Strange FireFox Problem(s)
O.K., I have gone through Mozilla's forums and can't find anything, maybe someone here can help.
I have two different computers, both running XP Home, both have FireFox 1.0PR set as the default browser. Computer #1 (AMD 2400+) has no FireFox problems. Everything I want it to do, it does. Computer #2 (2.8GHz.) has a few problems. What confuses me is that the problems are only on one computer, not both. Problem #1 - rearranging bookmark folders. I like to be able to manually set the order of my bookmark folders. Computer #1 does this, Computer #2 won't (under manage Bookmarks--I click on the folder and manually move it). Problem #2 - The theme I want, won't work (littlefox). It will install, but then it gets grayed out. Same thing: works on #1, doesn't on #2. I have unistalled FireFox several times. Nothing. I ran AdAware. Nothing. I can't seem to come up with even a hint of an idea as to why #2 is giving me these problems. More info on #2: XP SP2, latest updates/patches (all software is the same on both computers) Any ideas? Thanks, |
Have you tried deleting/recreating the profile for computer #2?
It's in c:\documents and settings\(username)\application data\mozilla\firefox\profiles I know that a lot of issues can be resolved by either recreating a profile or deleting it before you do a reinstall. You should back up your profile just to save bookmars and other settings just in case. |

Thanks, deleting the profile and re-creating it did the trick.
