PHP3 legacy code replacement.
Hi there.
I'm looking to replace a php script with either newer php or a javascript. # Name: ButtonServer # Version: 1.0A # Author : Robert Manuel # Last Updated: 21 Oct 1999 It takes an exisitnig .gif and places some text defined in the url query on top of the image and creates it as a new gif, to be used as a button. Problem is, the new server for the sites is now using php4.3x and the GD dll's in php no longer support creation of gifs, so the variables in the php3 script are returned as unknown. Tried using the older dll's as extensions, but it just hangs. Anyone know of a newer script that can do the same job? |

Bit of progress.
Thx aoeuhtns, I have discovered that gifs do indeed work as you've said. I've been trying to teach myself to build dynamic images from the ground up. Have been able to get as far as basic images, but I'm having some trouble with the fonts loading. Using code I've found on the web and in the manuals, it seems I'm missing TTF support. Anyone know where I can find a good reference on compiling latest php with TTF support for IIS6? Thx. |

F#ckit! GRRRRRRRRRRR!
Note to people new to PHP and having to take care of older code: You need to turn Register_globals in php.ini to 'on' for older coded variables to work. Either that or the more secure way of rewriting the variable to meet secure standards of taking script variables in from the URL line. ( $_GET ) |
