Programming fonts
What fonts do you use for programming? My old windows favourite was Fixedsys, but this one does not come up as a choice in the Matlab editor. So I did some searching and found this: http://www.proggyfonts.com/index.php?menu=download. I might just get used to the Crisp font, although I still miss the nice and fat Fixedsys.

Lucinda Console is hard to beat - and it's available on most systems as default
|
I saw an interesting blog post somewhere on this subject (can't remember where), and one of the most suggested free fonts was Anonymous, available in TrueType for Windows and Macintosh. The tilde (~) is a bit weak, however, if your language uses a lot of that.

Thanks, I've tried lots of fonts now including a new version of Fixedsys that works in my editor. I think it's still the best one.. the others are just too skinny.

I don't particularly use one, but Profont has a lot of followers, because it is a sans-serif font that is easy to differentiate

i use 'bitstream vera sans mono'
want to know why? because it puts a little dot in the middle of the zero so its easy to tell its a zero and not a cap o. and i like the look of it. |
ProFont all the way
ProFont cam out many many years ago, on the Mac I think.
I have used for all that time and like it. |
I tend to use Terminus. Both for my terminal and my editors/whatever. Google it.

Courier baby.
Simple and uniformly spaced. |
IBMPC.fon is not too bad.
|
IBMPC looks good, even in 8 and 9 point sizes. What sucks is that I can't choose bitmap fonts like I used to in the Matlab editor font selector. Strange they would put an effort into removing those, since they usually look best for screen reading.
