Reducing the size of multiple JPEGs

Any suggestions besides adjusting the "Stretch/Skew" properties in MS Paint?

For large batch jopbs imagemagick does a pretty good job. It will resize jpegs for you. http://www.imagemagick.org/

if you are doing mass amounts of resizing (to the same size), check out Confederate's reply. You install it, then you can highlight like 100 pictures at a time, go to "Resize," and pick your resolution you want to resize it to. Fucking fantastic.

Another good alternative is IrfanView, an excellent freeware graphics viewer with batch processing functions. It's small and fast and handles just about everything, so I find it's worth having even if the batch resizing function is not needed.

Both photoshop and fireworks have batch process modes that can run a series of modifications on a group of pictures.

I use fireworks and its super easy.

I pulled the PowerToy and installed. I could not find the application (to like run it). Furthermore when looking for it I opened Windows Folder which had a slight warning "YOU MUST BE CAREFUL BROWSING THESE FILES"...

I became paranoid and deleted the install file.

Don't sweat it man, that warning in the Windows folder is always there, it's to keep users who may not understand the context of "system folders." Nevertheless you do n ot need to dig around in there to use the powertoy image resizer. If you installed it all you need to do now is find your images that you want to resize and right click on one of them (or a group of them). In the right click menu (called a "context menu") you should see an option for 'Resize Images.' The rest should be fairly self-evident.

It does not matter that you deleted the install file by the way.

This power toy is by far the best option of those suggested in this thread, mostly because it's free and easy to use.

Good luck, let us know how it goes and if you are still confused...don't by shy, we're here to help

Powertoys Rock

There is also a sweet one that allows multiple "desktops" similar to what you see in the Gnome interface in Linux. Good for multitasking or for hiding TFP while you're at work. =)
