Dirt cheap computer speakers with high quality?!
I just picked up some computer speakers by Creative for only 45$US and they are simply amazing. The whole set comes with 2 speakers (3 channels a piece) and a sub woofer, theyre extremely small (jmaybe 1.5" by 6" for the speakers and 8" by 8" for the sub) but louder then most speakers ive seen that are twice their size. The set also came with a volume control/bass control that has a headphones output on it (extremely convenient) my only complaint is the stands that come with speakers are set up in such a way that they arent very stable. I highly reccomend buying new speakers whenever you get a new computer to replace the crappy ones that typically come with a dell or gateway and this a very cheap solution. One of the best parts is you can get a great (loud) sound from something with an internal amp, and it comes with its own audio software that is very useful!
Its not all about the sound card! |
Yeah $50 dollars makes a world of difference in the speaker world, though for my money its Astec Lansing :)

I agree with everything said. Upgrading your computer speakers to GOOD ones makes almost TOO much of a difference. Fucking excellent.

The computer I got came with some Altec Lansing (not sure if this is right) 4.1's and it just wasnt enough (Im nuts about my sound!) So last week I purchased the new Logitech Z5500 speakers, its 505 watts RMS of pure kick ass!!

Creative Inspire 4.1's have never done me any wrong, except for the rear left speaker flaking out on me for about a week, 6 months ago, totally inexplicably :(
They have great sound quality and a sweet volume control that mounts anywhere. I say give them a look, they must be dirt cheap by now too.. |
Take a look at Edifier S2.1D. They are amazing and best for the money i think.

I think they're discontinued now, but I picked up a set of Logitech Z-640's a few months ago for $50. 5.1, they sound great, and they're plenty loud.
