My mouse is pissing me off.....

I have a logitech cordless optical trackman.(here) , and it has worked fine for years.

Well, starting yesterday, the left click button now also dose the foward comand at the same time. So everytime I try to click on a menu command (flie, edit, etc) it immediaty goes away. I have to click and hold to use the menu.

The real pain-in-the-ass is when I hit back, then try to click a hyperlink, it wont work, it goes foward instead.

I "updated" the drivers (they were the same), and battery level is good, and no other problems.

The only weird thing I noted, is my system is showing 2 mice in device manager, but if I disable either, the mouse stops working......

the buttons may be starting to wear out... or it may just need a good cleaning...
take apart completely and blast everything off with some compressed air...

other then that you could try uninstalling both mice in the device manager and then reinstalling your mouse...

can you go in to your mouse pointers and set the "button function"?

Cleaning it seems to have worked...... weird, I opened it and it really wasnt as dirty as I expected.

All the actual buttons were clean, so it must have been a peice of dust in one of the contacts.

Thanks for your help.
