I have a problem with my SubWoofer
hey guys and gals,
I have a DTX sub woofer, I know it's probably a bottom of the barrel one, but it's just for a small bedroom setup and does the job fine. Here's my problem... the subwoofer only comes on when there's bass (obviously). There's a blue light that comes on the front. So if it's a quiet sceen it'll be off, then if something happens it'll come on... you get the drift. I'm just wondering why it does this? Why wouldn't it stay on all the time, because sometimes when it switches off you can here it go off and it's quiet annoying. any idea's? |
The amplifier has signal sensing turn on/off. In other words it turns on when it 'sees' high enough signal voltage on the inputs. It turns off when signal is removed Orrrrrrr.....in your case - to low.

Does your receiver have the ability to adjust the level going to your sub, in addition to the volume knob that I would assume exists on the back of the sub itself? If so, I'd recommend turning the sub's level way up on the receiver and way down at the sub to compensate. That way the sub will always be getting enough signal from the receiver to know that it needs to be on.

yeah it does have a Sub volume setting on my amp. I'll try that.
Thats for the help guys. |
There's always the solder gun option....
