How to get rid of SyncroAd/Winsync
SyncroAd and Winsync "sync" up with each other, so whenever you close one in the Task Manager, the other one will open it back up. So here's how to get rid of this pesky ad-ware:
1. Go to C:\Program Files\Windows SyncroAd\ 2. Rename both of the .exe files. I chose "assholes!" for one, and "fuckyou!" for the other. 3. Go back into the Task Manager and close them. They won't open back up because you've renamed the files. 4. Delete the said files. 5. Delete the folder and give Ad-Ware a "FUCK YOU!" for good measure. The following was taken from the readme.txt that was in the folder: Quote:

As an alternative, you could always just boot to safe mode (f8 on startup) and then run ad-aware/spybot/whatever. Not letting many processes run usually gives whatever anti-spyware app you're using the chance to remove everything; while running under normal mode there is usually the problem of what you've described of having a process restore files to something you've tried getting rid of.

I once formatted my PC when I got some new hardware, did a fresh install, and BAM!!! Winsync was running!
I had literally only gone to three sites, Microsoft, ATI, and Creative. I usually get rid of these types of files by playing winamp, changin its process to high, then ending the junkware's task and quickly deleting it before it can restart. Since winamp is eating up all the system resources after turnining its priority up the spyware takes much longer to start, giving you enough time to delete the source. |
