saving progress with flash movies
Does anyone know the best way to create a standalone PC application which will work along with flash swf's allowing you to save progress and print as you add content to text fields in the swf's????? I'm thinking director but am more a flash person than director. Any help would be appreciated

well that turned out to be a popular thread, for the 15 people who looked at this but didn't reply, you may be curious to know tha the solution is to use a 3rd party programme such as Flash studio pro which extends the use of FSCommand functions to enable intergration with the PC system

The best way to add save/load functionality to a Flash projector (.exe) is to use XML files. There are unlimited ways you could organize the XML file, and this great flexibility is what makes XML the best option. The only problem is that XML files are plain text files, which means users could potentially edit their save file to "cheat."
