				Is this a virus?

My wifes computer has Windows ME and just recently started having some quirks. I was on it the other day and I opened up Internet Explorer and It started opening multiple windows of IE, like a hundred or more and would keep opening them as I closed them.

Sounds like you got bit by a pop-up menace. Not necessarily a virus.

If you aren't running an anti-virus software, I'd highly recommend it. That, and download and run Ad-Aware to be sure some malicious software isn't running...

check the homepage for sure.. check for spyware ( I recommend spysweeper, you can download a trial at www.webroot.com) then run a housecall at trendmicro.com as already mentioned. IF that doesn't work get rid of ME that is a major problem in itself

Yeah I would agree sounds like a bit of spy or adware. Grap a bit spybot or spysweeper, would recomend you do a full virus scan and update your virus scanner first or use Trendmicro, which is a free online virus scan. Little bastards are spyware, I had one that kept crashing everything becasue it wasnt compatable with XP...
