What lighting to use for indoor still pictures?

undefinedundefined I use indoor lighting when the weather is bad and I cannot go outside to shoot pics for ebay, my new camera has an optical lens and a macro, however, I cannot seem to get the lighting correct to take crisp pictures, can you give me any help?

Make sure you have LOTS of indirect light - direct light tends to be pretty harsh, so reflect it off a wall or the ceiling...

What brand/model camera are you using?
You might be able to adjust the exposure length, aperture, ISO, which can all help...

Are you taking pictures by hand? If so, try using a stable base. With outdoor lighting, the sun is pretty powerful so the camera doesn't need to open the shutter very long to get enough light, but indoors is another story.

Basically, have good focus, and a short shutter speed.

As TheAgent said lighting is very important in an indoor picture. If you use flash, have it pointed at the celing above the object, so the light reflects off of the celing and over the object. If you are not using flash try to make sure the source of light is not drectly behind of in front of the object, hope I helped.

i had a Coolpix 880 with the same problem - its because when there isnt enough light, the camera will use a longer shutter speed (which introduces blur if the camera isnt completely still).

So you really have two options - get a tripod (even just a small table-top one), or haul all of your lamps into the room to provide more light...
