HP PSC 2110 won't print
I've HP PSC 2110, and it won't print anymore. The printer status window says error whenever I try to print anything. This began very recently, possibly after that dual boot fiasco, but I see no reason for it. I've removed and reinstalled the drivers, and it finds the machine via USB just fine during installation, but when I try to print, the printer doesn't even budge, and after a while I get an error without an error number or detailed explanation.
I could use some helpful suggestions as to how to go about debugging this problem. |
Have you tried rebooting the printer?

Find out how to make the printer do a self-test, then with the printer disconnected from the computer, do so. This will help you to localize the problem to either the printer or the computer.
Once you know that your printer works (assuming it does) based on the information you've given I would suggest uninstalling the drivers, shutting down and restarting the computer, downloading and installing the latest available <U>drivers only</U> - not printer software crap - then while the printer is disconnected, restarting your computer (not necessary w/ XP) and finally connecting your USB printer and letting the machine sort it out. Once done, try printing a Windoze 'test page' from within the print drivers properties page. Good luck. Sometimes manufacturer driver installations are a bit persnickity. Let us know how you make out. |
