Plextor is always a good choice.

we've got the NEC-2510a (good price, good product).
unfortunately, the media is hard to come by here, so we've not yet burned a DL disc.

I was in the exact same position and I eventually ended up with a Pioneer 108A. I bought the NEC drive Sin mentioned above but it wouldn't burn any 4X media, upgrading the firmware was a chore and there is no customer support from NEC for this drive. Right out of the box my new Pioneer burnt a DVD at every speed (including 16X. I just wanted to see) and I can contact Pioneer for support. It is a little more expensive than the NEC drive mentioned (maybe I just got a defective one?) but I would fully recommend the Pioneer.
