IE never shuts down!!!
Im getting a few popups which i have never gotten before after removing all the spyware and cookies and what not I still get them so I started to look into what starts up IE and I discovered in (Task manager) that IE never shuts down even though you cant see the supposed window the only way for me to stop ie is to end program in Task manager. Any one else have that problem. And if, anyone know why?
But it has stopped all the pop ups though. Best Piesen |

I had that problem but I got rid of it by formatting my harddrive, I'm pretty sure it's because IE gets some type of patch loaded into it by spyware or a popup program, so the only way to stop it is to shut down IE, just make sure your close down the Internet browser and not the system browser.

If infact it is in ie then one should be able to uninstall ie then go into regedit clean it up and then reinstall ie no ??
I really hate to format the HD I have about 100 gig of home video with files as big as 12 gig and no where to put them yet. |

I use Spyware X-Terminator. It costs $, but it's well worth it. Make sure when you do the scan, you check the "thorough scan" box and it will get rid of a lot of the crap that opens ie. I still have trouble with ie opening up once in awhile, but it doesn't happen nearly as often after I've been running the scans.

just to be clear... is the running task which never stops, "explorer.exe" or "iexplore.exe" ?
the former is windows explorer, the latter is internet explorer. windows explorer should always be in the task manager.

extensions are just some of the things that makes firefox the best! "adblock" is enough to make you dump IE forever.... i also use foxytunes, the new weatherfox extension, and if you're a web developer, the webdeveloper toolbar is a MUST!
