Laptop Purchasing

I am about to get a laptop.
I built my own desktop just recently, but it just isn't mobile enough.
I have: 2.00GHZ 2400+ thoroughbred AMD, ASUS A7 MB, 1GB crucial PC3200 RAM, ATI Radeon 9800+ 256 Pro, 80GB 7200RPM WD HD. I was about to upgrade my desktop to 64, but I think I'm going with a laptop.

I want - at least 64 MB video RAM, shared or otherwise. 1.5GHZ or more 400FSB or more, 512 RAM one stick (for upgrades) to max of 2GB, 4+ battery life. I was looking at Vaios. Any suggestions? I'm not too worried about screen size, or harddrive space.

Main concerns:
Battery life
Mobility
Must meet my minimum req.

Also, among the few that have 64 bit mobile processors, what brand would you recommend, just to get a view of what's out there, high end performance wise.

All I've seen is an Emachines and a Dell with 64 bit. But with low bat life and high weight.

I've got a D800 from Dell and it's plenty nice. Battery life is great at 4hrs or so.

I love my Toshiba Satellite M35-S456... but I don't know if the battery life is QUITE that long.

I've been impressed thus far, though.

Understandable.
Compaq is having a deal on their R3000Z.
AMD Athlon XP-M 2800+ 256MB/40GB HD, DVD, Free 802.11b/g wireless card, Free 15.4" WideXGA Screen, Firewire 1394, 56K, Ethernet, MS Works/Money, XP Home.

$774 shipped, with rebate.

3400+
64 meg radeon 9600
80 gig hard drive

$1250

trust me I used to work for dell, I was ready to throw down $2500 for a laptop when I found this.

Look at IBM. You'll pay a bit more, but for good reason. I have yet to find a more consistently better thought out, designed, built, and bulletproof laptop.
