Coolbits
I downloaded the WHQL certified Forceware drivers from Guru3d.com
I downloaded Coolbits 2.0 and installed it. I overclocked it just a tad bit, tested it, then restarted my computer, and it went back to the original settings with "No overclocking" checked. I DID check the box that said "Apply at next startup" Any help? WindowsXP Pro 3.2GHz P4 Prescott 1GB DDR-SDRAM Nvidia Geforce 6800 |
Overclock with the BIOS?
Call me old school but that's really the only way it should be done. I don't trust software solutions. As far as your situation goes... the new Forceware drivers are real new, just released this past week. Perhaps Coolbits hasn't updated to support this newest driver release. |
I installed the WHQL one. It came from Nvidia and is Microsoft certified.
Coolbits is a software made by Nvidia to give power users more control without letting inexperienced users screw up with it. |
Update: Got it to work
Changed core freq. from 325MHz to 370MHz Changed mem speed from 700MHz to 760MHz. Upgraded my 3DMark03 score from 8500 to 9300. |
