Suggestions for LCD monitor
My 19" CRT is starting to flake out and I was considering an LCD to replace it. Does anyone have any recommendations for a 19" LCD monitor less than $600?
It will be used mostly for business productivity however I play PC games now and again. Something with Analog and DVI inputs for PC/Mac. Rotating to Portrait and Landscape modes would be a neat feature but not required. Quality of the display is most important. Any suggestions? Thanks! |
I recently bought a Planar 19" LCD to use on my old G4. It gives me a headache within 30 minutes. My suggestion is to stay away from Planar monitors (explains why they're less expensive).
My 2 cents |
There is no such thing as a decent 19" LCD monitor for $600. Its unfortunate, but true :(
Keep in mind, however, that a 19" LCD is the same size as a 21" CRT. If you want something the same size as your 19" CRT, go look for a 17" LCD. You can easily find good 17 inchers for under $600. |
I have a 17" Sony (SDM-S74) with DVI-output and it is simply amazing. Bright colors, sharp contrast and amazing quality. I love it.
Newegg $437 when I bought it. |
Ill amend my post and say that you could find a good 19" LCD for $600 if you looked, but its going to be right on that $600 mark.

I was always wondering about how the LCD and CRT sizes were comparable. I'll probably be very happy with a 17" LCD.
Thanks for the suggestions. |
