Dual channel ram and amd 64 motherboards.
So I posted hear a while back looking for someone to do my homework for me and tell me what purchase to build a budget computer. Well now the budget has gotten bigger and I've been doing some of my own looking around. However I'm not real tech savy and realy can't figure out if these two things are mutualy exclusive.
The motherboard and cpu I'm leaning towards are ASUS "K8V SE Deluxe" K8T800 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Socket 754 CPU -RETAIL AMD Athlon 64 3000+, 512KB L2 Cache 64-bit Processor - Retail The ram that Im unsure about is Corsair Value Select (Dual Pack) 184 Pin 1G(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200 - OEM I'm getting everything off newegg as it stands now, thanks again for your time |

Okay, it's back up... It should all work just peachy, though I'd personally recommend using Mushkin memory instead. Just a personal preference (I use CAS 2-2-2 stuff, Black Hi-Perf II. A little more pricey, but DAMNED good RAM, and clocks up to 400MHz)

I'd spend the extra money and get an Athlon 64 3200+ 1 MB cache version. A 3000+ would still be really fast, but may as well get a nice upgrade while you're at it. Everything else looks fine.
