If you recall I just got sbc/DSL, the 3 systems upstairs are networked together using a hub. The system downstairs has a Linsys/wireless network.

I have XP and downstairs when I log on as MARK the internet is available right away, if I log on as my wife, it takes several minutes before the intenet is available. If I go to My Network Places and click on the Wireless Connection icon the internet is available.
I noticed as her the icons near the time do not display?

The speed can be due to your wife having more things starting up on logon. It can also be due to permissions (i.e. - you have local administrator but you wife has local user permissions). The Icon is a choice that you have to check on the Wireless connection settings.
