XP blowup recovery
Welp, for reasons too numerous to go into here, i've had to reinstall xp pro o a different drive than my previous OS, xp home which is still on its origial drive. Anybody know a way to "import" registry settings from the old to the new, or am really faced with reistalling everything (argghh!)?

Well, do you really trust the old operating system enough to import the registry settings from the old one? You'll have to boot into XP Home, export the registry to a file, boot to XP Pro, and try to merge portions of it. It's a very very tricky thing to do - and I'd recommend, both in terms of ease and stability, to reinstall your applications.
