Am I running too hot?
Hey guys i recently put together a new computer and my board came with a sensor program and i have been checking up on my CPU temp. Its one the new Celeron D processors and i am consistently running at 49 degrees celesius for the processor and at about 33 degrees for my system temp. I am using the fan and heatsink that came with the processor and dont have a front mount fan at the moment. The whole idea with this computer is to keep it quite. So if i am running to hot could you guys suggest a quite front mount 120v fan and a nicer heat sink.
Thanks Pkeigs |

Pkeigs,
Is that without load, or are playing games or something CPU intesive? If you are I would probably follow up with some additional cooling. If it isn't a gaming machine or something like that, you should be okay running that. ( since it is a celeron, I'm going to assume it isn't a gaming machine) |

49 celsius is a great temperature. You have nothing to worry about.
Bamrak, it is a Celeron D, so it won't be *too* bad at gaming. Much better than the old Celerons anyway! -Lasereth

Its not a bad processor!! Haha, I couldnt find a 2.4 GHZ P4 at the shop that i was getting everything at and it couldnt wait to order one online because i was heading up to School.
I might do moderate gaming. I am beta testing World of Warcraft so I might be playing that a little bit but other than that i want it to burn with. Thanks for the help Patrick |
