I need help!!! :-(
Okay, i did something really stupid yesterday when i was reinstalling windows xp on my computer. i'll do the best i can to explain. i have three hard drives. two internal, about 20 gigs each, and one external that's 140 gigs. i wanted to format one of the internal hard drives and install xp on it.
well, i get to the screen where i choose which drive i want to install on (and format), and dumbass me forgot to even turn off and disconnect my external hard drive, and i accidentaly deleted the partition on my external hard drive. now i DIDN'T format it, i just deleted the partition. please will someone tell me that there is a way to get my hard drive back with all my information. i have a lifes accumulation of stuff on that disk and seriously, i can't even comprehend what it would be like if all that was really gone. PLEASE HELP ME!!! TELL ME THERE IS STILL HOPE! :-( |

Recover deleted partition
Using google and searching for "recover deleted partition", I found this software
They have a free demo that you can download to see if it can find the deleted partition. If it does, then you can purchase the software and retrieve your data and move on down the road. I don't know of any free software that will do this although I didn't look that hard. You can google like I did and check out the other results. |

There's free software available for linux that does the job.
Otherwise, if you remember what the partition was, grab a partitioning program (google Ranish Partition Manager) and just re-add the partition back yourself. (This'll work easiest if; a) the partition was the whole disk and b) you can remember if it was ntfs or fat32) |
