CD Not Burning Clearly?
I've been uploading cd's to my computer lately in iTunes I find that when I copy a lot of the cd's to iTunes or even Windows Media Players that a lot of them don't burn very clearly and sound really scratchy when I go to play them later? On the actual cd's themselves they sound perfect but only when I burn them to my comp they turn out scratchy and rough sounding?! Anyone else ever have this problem before? Any ideas as to why this could be happening?

Do the songs sound clear when you play them through your computer speakers coming off of the harddrive and not the cd? Also, when you burn a cd, are you using the burning functionality in Windows XP or a better program like Nero?
The burning software in Windows XP is an extremely stripped down version of Easy CD Creator, which sucks. You might try Nero or Nero Express. At least in Nero you would be able to see how the memory buffer is doing while you are burning a cd. If your burner is relatively new, it will have something called Burn-proof, SmartBurn or something similar. These included capabilities allow a cdwriter to hold data into memory for an extended period of time so that you don't mess up your burn if you decide you want to start playing Doom3 or use Photoshop while you're burning your cd. If all else fails, go to Best Buy, buy a new cdwriter and see if you get the same effects. If it works, then keep the burner, if not, take it back and get your money back within 30days.

Note that some newer audio CDs have copyright protections. I haven't tried it myself but I think the newest version of AnyDVD will let you copy it.
