file association for .eml attachments
somehow, my system has lost the file association for .eml attachments. so I have been trying to recreate the association. the problem is that I dont know the necessary info to put in all the fields.
running Outlook Express 5.5 on a Windows 98se machine, with IE 6 as my primary browser. so what I need to know is what MIME content type it should be (text/html, text/plain, etc) as well as the default extension for content type. Im pretty sure I should be using "open" as the action to be performed and IE as the application to perform said action. so, can anyone walk me through this? I've been trying various combinations, but havent found the right one yet.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but when i look at the file type and the open command, this is what is listed on my pc.
"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /eml:%1 I know that outlook can also open .eml files as well. thinking about it, reinstalling outlook express might be the easiest way to restore the file association. |

Being new, I'm lacking the ability to attach files, but you may want to compare the copy/pasted Windows XP registry fix for .eml files and see how it compares to your 98 box. I know in XP that fixing this issue isn't as easy as reinstalling Outlook Express or tinkering with the file associations in Explorer. I can't remember what site I pulled this off of, either, so I apologize for not being a complete help...
