I've been thinking of upgrading my sound card. I have a sound blaster live platinum setup right now. I like having the extra stuff in the front of the case.

I was looking at the new audigy 2 platinum cards as weel as some turtle beach cards. The sound blaster cards are pissing me off as of lately with little issues just seem to creep up out of nowhere and then disappear when you go and try and find them. for example my microphone seems to check and uncheck itself at random. last night my entire mixer control just didn't work, had to reboot to get it back.


I do a lot of online gaming and I use ventrilo to co-ordinate attacks with friends.

I can go without the front bay options of the sound blaster platinum cards so long as there is a headphone jack on the internals of the card. The case I have has a wire that comes down that can attach to a headphone jack. But more than anything I want a lag free card and one that sounds awesome along with some 5.1 options as I hope to be getting my reciever back soon to hook up the optical connection.
