Far Cry Texture Problems?
I just got my new system today--Athlon 64 3000, eVGA 6800, with 1GB of RAM. I load of Far Cry, and things arent looking so good though...
http://theravenel.mine.nu/img/FarCry0000.jpg And... http://theravenel.mine.nu/img/FarCry0001.jpg I was pushing 90FPS, so I dont think things were too high... My first thought is that the video card doesnt have enough RAM for the full textures. Its a 128mb video card, so that could be the case. Im running the most recent driver. Any suggestions? |
ive ran this game to max settings without any texture problems. i have a 3.0e p4, 768 pc3200, and a 9800pro (128mb). it might be the new patch for far cry that came out. are you using it? i heard that it got recalled because a lot of people were having problems after installing the patch. or it might be the setting of your video card. i have an ati so i would know what to tell you to check. but check around for texture settings, mipmap detail.. stuff like that and try different settings. o and theres the agp aparture size. . i dont really know what exactly this does but the best setting is supposed to be 1/3 of your ram. i have 768 so mine is set to 256. it should be in the bios.

patch the game first, check for driver updates, and if that does not work, try changing the render method

I think nVidia just update their drivers, so that might do the trick. The changelog says it "added 6800 support".

I uninstalled and reinstalled, patched FarCry, and things are working fine.
And man, is it purty :D |
