PCI Bridge problem

I've just built a computer for my girlfriend from parts of other computers I've got lying around. It seems to work fine, but on loading Windows gives the error message

"Error loading c:\windows\system\NvCpl.dll
A device attached to the system is not functioning"

On furthur investigation, the only device in device manager with an exclamation mark next to it is the PCI Bridge. It doesn't seem to be affecting the system in anyway, the PCI devices appear to be working (a Geforce 256 Soundblaster live, haven't tested the modem as I don't have a dial-up account anymore).

Do PCI bridges need drivers loading, and if so how do I know which driver to use, as I have no idea who manufactured the PCI bridge (I didn't even know there was one in there)?

Any advice on what I should do?

NvCpl.dll is part of the Nvidia drivers. try uninstalling your drivers and installing them again.

I don't think NcCpl.dll is the cause of the problem though, it just seems to be reporting that the PCI bridge isn't working.

Sounds like VIA chipset. If it is, try loading the VIA 4-in-1 drivers and see if that helps.

Thanks BigBob, I'll try that.
