Right now the best DDR ram you could match with the processor is about 400 Mhz.
Therefor, you would notice no difference in speed between the two. You do have the option of going with RAMBUS, which will run at the FSB speed of the processor. However, it is more expensive and you need a mobo with a chipset that supports it. Personally, I'd go with the less expensive processor.

Oops, your right. The ddr400 is for the 800Mhz P4.
I'm in the process of building my own right now and all these numbers are making my head hurt.

Tom's Hardware did a whole article on the difference between a TBred A and a TBred B. Start on This page and read through.
http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/2003...2_to_june_2002 The only real difference it shows is the B has one more layer, and is capable of running a core clock speed of 166Mhz, vs. the A's 133. This equates to the difference between using DDR 2100 and DDR 2700.

Ignore my previous post, I fully admit to all of the dumbassedness required to misread the topic that badly. On a lighter note though, Tom's may indeed have some information about those two processors.
