New cellphone battery. Trust ebay?

I need a new battery for my Motorola T720. The battery barely lasts a full day now. I went to Verizon, and they told me that a new battery is $40.

I found some on ebay for $4. They say they are new... but I obviously have some doubts. I'm not worried about voiding the warranty or anything like that. Anyone have any advice?

With shipping it's only $10. I may just give it a try...

Thanks Xepidemic. That's the kind of positive experience I was hoping for.

I ordered one today. $11 total, with shipping. I'll let you know.

I just bought an entire phone off of Ebay and I am hoping for the best right now.

Most of my phone-related experiences with ebay have been mostly smaller purchases. Phone covers, car chargers, batteries. Small shit. I've never once gotten something that didn't work properly. Just go with someone who's got a nice 100% or close to it, and has a shitton of sales, and you should be ok.

i guess it's too late, but there's a difference between third party and OEM cell phone accessories. try and get an OEM one, they're usually a little bit more but worth it.

there's a lot of hocky, get-the-job-done cell accessories like hands free kits and chargers, i've tried them and decided to stay the hell away from them. they usually end up being considerably poorer quality, and although something not quite as noticable as a battery might work fine, i find its worth the extra couple bucks for the peace of mind.

I think I paid an extra $1.50 because I wanted to go with the OEM. I made sure to match up the picture on the sale with the battery I have now. I'll let you all know how it goes when I actually get it. If I forget to post, someone remind me... I get lazy sometimes.

Welp, I got my battery yesterday. I gave it a full charge, and it seems to be working well. I haven't done a "stress test" on it yet, but I'm pleased so far. Thanks for all the good advice...
