any good free media players?

Windows media player keeps crashing on me and I cant figure out why. Does anyone know any good free media players? Capable of playing most, if not all, movie formats?

Media Player Classic
Divx
Winamp can be good, if configured right

For all of these, a good set of codecs can save you from many a headache. I suggest you find the Nimo codec pack, and the K-Lite pack of codecs. Google can help you there.

the ffdshow codec pack is also very good

if you ever want to see what codec is required by a file, download g spot and it will tell you what is needed for a particular file.

VLC: http://www.videolan.org/

BSplayer: http://www.bsplayer.org/

Zoom Player: http://www.inmatrix.com/files/zoomplayer_download.shtml

...are all great options. I use VLC.

For audio I use foobar2000 it takes up less resources that winamp

Foobar2000 resources 2k
winamp resources 18k

I also like winamp but if I need to have resources dedicated to someting else I use foobar.

For Video I use DivX Player with the Xvid package.

I give another vote for Videlan VLC. It is the greastest. It plays just about anything.
