Web Design - swimsuit site

A while back, when I first started offering design services through my website, I got some helpful feedback on my site. So I decided to post an update on what I've been at.

My latest design was for a swimsuit line

It's called "Unabashedly Canadian", check it out:

www.canadianswimwear.com

The splash page has 9 random images, so click refresh a few times if you like.

Enjoy

looks pretty! Just wondering tho, why each page is setup complete on it's own, rather than , say inline frames? Was that easier?

Yeah, still using tables Actually the project was a redesign, and the client already had her content done with tables, so I didn't bother with the CSS route. And Imageready was used, which exports to tables as well.

The next time I have to design a site from scratch, Im going all CSS.

The side navigation is different depending on the page you visit, so I made a couple of simple php functions to include the top and side navigation. And showed the client how to implement it into her content pages.

Inlines frames would have been easier to use if the side navigation was static.

Nice design, code looks very clean.

But why did you embed the CSS instead of just linking to a stylesheet? That would have given you more flexibility.

Oh yeah... did you get to take the pictures of the girls modeling the suits? 'Cuz that would have been frickin' sweet

Ok, one last question. Why use the .php extension? I didn't see anything in the code that would warrant that, but I don't know shit about php so feel free to educate me.

Both these questions can be answered in one.

I used PHP includes. The client had the content already there, so I made a header and a footer file that she could peg to each page.

So, the stylesheet isn't needed, she can edit the styles in header.inc

No, a professional photographer took the shots, I just played around with them ... I can't remember his name, but I've seen his website... If I find it, Ill post it.

Sorry, the client did those herself.

I did a redesign of her existing site, and due to time and budget constraints, left all the main content in place.
