Dell Digital Jukebox
I'm thinking about getting one of these because they're cheaper than the ipods.
But I'm wondering what people thought of them? How's the battery life, sound quality, etc? Are they easy to use? Any common problems? Do they freeze up, break easily or anything like that? How does the dell jukebox feel? Is it too big, too wide, too heavy? If you don't know what I'm talking about, click here |

I'm personally going to be getting an IRiver hard drive MP3 player because I haven't heard anything really bad about them, and they are supposed to be very easy to use.
Their prices are also fairly reasonable. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...150-015&depa=9 - 20 GB model http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...150-018&depa=9 - 40 GB model

Or get a Crative Nomad Zen Xtra.
I have the 30gig model, and I love it. No complaints at all. 30giger: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...102-127&depa=0 40giger: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...102-128&depa=0 60giger: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...102-123&depa=0 |

The new Creative Nomad Zen Touch (I think that's what it's called) looks pretty good, but isn't released yet.
I just realized I didn't even get around to your original question (whoops, sorry ). I did some research on the Dell's a while back and found that they are about average compared to most other models. Not bad, not great, just about average across the board. The personal reasons for getting an IRiver model are that they can play a wide variety of formats, needs no extra software to use, comes with a great remote, and is priced very reasonably.

I have been doing some research and here is what I have found. The Dell and the Creative Zen Touch based on specs I have found to be the better ones on the market. I know that they sound exactly the same because Dell used the same firmware from creative, and it is also the highest quality out of any of the other Mp3 Players. As for battery life they are both extremely high, 15+ hrs. I highly recommend both! If it were me picking I'd choose the Dell just because it looks nicer in my opinion.

Hmm, a 60 GB player. Delicious. Would just about hold every song I've got (15,361). It'd probably be a couple gigs short though. Oh well, guess we'll just have to wait for Nomad to put out an 80 GB.

I'd recommend a Dell DJ (have one) and the IRiver. I can tell you they're both great.
