Longhorn compatibility with 2000/XP software
Wander over to this article.
The author states a number of backward incompatibility issues with Longhorn - I never knew this. But didn't I read somewhere else that WinFS (the new file system) was being dropped from Longhorn until later? Does anyone know about the backward compatibility issues presented in this article? |
Another question: Is Longhorn going to be 64-bit?
|
Supposedly it is 64-bit
|
Longhorn sounds like it's the worst operating system ever.. all ready
|
I wonder if the home version is called greenhorn.
|
After reading that article it is going to take a lot to get me to upgrade...

Actually the main reasons keeping me on XP are the audio software I use, if there was a *nix program that could rival Soundforge and an audio player that had the abilities of Foobar2000 then I would consider dumping the win environment in a heartbeat. No way in hell is anything past XP touching my systems though. |
Longhorn won't have a real use unless pretty much everything in hardware changes majorly.....there is a 64bit xp......maybe they shoudl concentrate on making a stripped down highly stable and secure os.

Instead of focusing on Longhorn they should just fix all the secuirty flaws in XP.
