bittorrent movies

I recntley downloaded and tried bittorrent.
My first download was a movie, it completed and seems to be fine.
What it did was leave me w/ 90 or so .rar files.
what do I do w/ these? unload them all into a similiar folder?
does anyone have experience w/ this?

You need a program called WinRAR to extract the RAR files.

Once you do that, you will be left with the movie files. It will usually be in .avi format which can be used in WMP or a .bin/.cue format. If it is in this format, then you can either burn it to cd or watch it using a program like Alcohol 120% to mount the image onto a drive and play it with a player of your choice.

alternatively, if you have .bin and .cue files, you can extract the .mpg with vcdgear. to me that's easier than using alcohol..

if you're going to be watching movies or media from the internet, you'll need to install codecs. the most complete and best (imho) pack is the K-Lite pack which will allow you to watch pretty much all types of media you may encounter.

click ---> here !

some files will be encoded in divx, some xvid, some svcd, etc. this'll allow you to watch em all without a problem.

Bit Torrent doesn't have anything to do with the file being segmented like that. Who ever packed it chose to do it that way.

Alright i did the winRar thing, but I guess the movie did have some problems, because a couple of the files wouldnt Winrar.
So I deleted the movie :(
thanks though for future reference.

did you finish downloading the whole torrent ?

that's quite strange

iirc, if you're extracting a file from .rar files, all you should have to do is open any 1 of the files, and extract it to a location. Winrar will take all the segmented data from each .rar file and put the pieces together into one large one in the correct format.

If you downloaded the file and were able to open it and see all the seperate rar files inside, then you SHOULD have the whole thing and be able to extract it.

Good luck.
