a quick google search led me to this page http://www.liutilities.com/products/...rary/cidaemon/

Quote:
Process File: cidaemon or cidaemon.exe
Process Name: Microsoft Indexing Service
Description: Indexing Service that runs in the background and catalogs files so that you can search for files containing a specific text string.
Company: Microsoft Corp.
System Process: Yes
basically to fix this is to stop indexing your drive.

you can do this by
1) disabling the indexing service
2) go into the properties of the drive (each drive) and uncheck "Allow indexing service to index this drive for faster searching"

On the most part indexing takes up space and wastes the resources of your pc without providing any benefits.

Go to my computer and right click on the (NTFS) drives. Click properties and uncheck "Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching" in the General tab. Repeat for all your (NTFS) drives.
