Payment Systems?
I am in the midst of setting up a website for a friend. We need a section that is members only, and it needs to interface with an online payment system.
Essentially what will happen is that a user will come to the site, go to the "Join" page where they can enter their CC info, email, etc. Then, they will be automatically given a username (their email) and a password (a randomly generated one). Anyone know of good merchant accounts/payment services? Anyone know of some that will allow me to interface with them so that I can have it automatically register the user when they are paid? Recurring monthly payments are another biggie. The site is written in PHP, and the merchant system will need to be able to interface with that. I havent done any work with merchant services before, and Im hoping someone here can give me a little info to get me started.

Just visit one of the millions of paysites and see which company shows up at the bottom of their sign-up pages. I know there are companies like ccbill that do this.... I actually found a good one with low rates a while back, but for the life of me, I don't remember what it was.

I have been with Ibill and CCbill for years now, and love them both. They have their advantages and disadvantages. So, weigh them out carefully. I think you will be happy with either one of them.
PM me if you or anyone has more specific questions about this..

Awesome. How are you guys integrating these into your sites? Are you using a provided check-out form, or are you interfacing with their system through a PHP/Perl/ASP/Whatever script that you wrote?
