no seriously (spyware)
im looking for some where i can download and instal spyware (not on my main system)
i want to learn how it works, how it replicats it self and how to kill it. it is not enough to run spy bot and adaware for me, i want to pick it apart and learn it. (to beat it) and now when i acualy want it, i cant seem to find it, (irony) any suggestions on where to look? |
browse on the internet using an 'expendable' windows install with Internet Explorer on the default settings and you should find plenty of spyware and malware.
|
I'd say surfing around to seedy porn and warez sites in IE with the security turned all the way down while clicking yes to everything that pops up will do you just fine.

check out this article, recently linked on fark. they talk about comparing differnet spyware removal programs, and they go into detail about what they did to infect their machine:
http://www.flexbeta.net/main/article...ge=1&pagenum=1 especially look at page two, where they give links to the different programs they installed. |
run a registry watcher, and then install Kazaa.
|
www.gator.com ! That was at least my first taste of spyware.

I bet both of those would work just fine. |
you could also go to www.jraun.com (they make the golden palace casino worm). someone told me they have that code available for download.
|
thanks for all the help.

man this should be made into a thing saying "dont do any of these thing if you want your computer to work tommrow!"
do as they say and you should be running nice and slow with in minutes, btw dling porn on kazza fills you computer right up with the stuff! |
My little sister always seems to spyware up her computer in a matter of days on teen chat forums. Every few months I clean her computer off and am always disgusted with what I find.
|
I cant believe that the have SpyHunter as a legitimate removal tool on that page. I recently was infected by a CWS.yEXE virus through a hole in the MS VM....I downloaded SpyHunter and it loaded even MORE spyware onto my machine. I couldnt believe it...smarmy bastards!

once upon a time i used one called Advanced Registry Tracer. it would take a snapshot of the registry before an installation and then again afterwards and then compare the two files for differences. the url was
http://www.elcomsoft.com/art.html another one that watches the registry is called Regmon, and i got it here: www.sysinternals.com |
That sysinternals website is a good find - thanks!
That'll come in very useful! |
