Other than a full fledged video edit, is there a way to change the thumbnail view of avi or mpeg files that XP displays? To pick an image from anywhere in the video and choose that image as your thumbnail for the video?

So you want to pick a specific frame from each video as the thumb nail instead of displaying the first frame? Would that be frame 200 (for example) from every video or a custom frame from each video?

Either way I think you may be dreamin'.

Either way would rule...the thing is, some vids don't display thumbs, just a WMP logo or a Winamp logo or a logo for whatever media player you happen to be using. I'd just like to find a way to assign thumbs to them all, instead of having a generic logo.
