Cell Phone Ringtone Help :(

What's goin on? I just bought a new Sanyo 5500 cell phone and I love the cell phone but for the love of god the ringtones it comes with are horrid to the maximum! Does anyone know of any good sites for ringtones (free or not) for Sanyo 5500 cellphones? :) I did a quick search but nothing too special and they all want you to join the site blah blah Any help would be madly appreciated! :D!

Thank You!

PS Anyone else here have that cell phone by any chance? And if you do how do you like it so far? :)

I have some good midi tunes if your phone can play them. PM me if you're interested.

Xingtone is a nice program that allows you to make ringtones out of mp3s and transfer them to your phone. I already checked and your Sanyo phone is compatible. You can download a trial version to make sure it works, but it only has 5 sounds with it. If you want to use your own mp3s, it costs $15. That's not too much considering it's unlimited use and Cingular charges $2.50 for each "trutone" or "real voice" ringtone.

Wanna add a question and a bump to this if possible.

Looking for NExtel ringtones for my new i830 phone but alas JACK SHIT!!

And I REFUSE to buy one of them BS data cables and homebrew CD's off E-bay.

Can anyone point me towards some nice Nextel stuff?

I found this ringtone program and wanted to know if anyone had any info on it. I've got a few mp3s that I'd love to take snippets from.

Does anyone know a site that would tell me if my cell is mp3 compatable? I have a Seimens SL56.

All I've ever downloaded are polyphonic ringtones, but the only place I get them from is my mobile internet too, so it's whatever Cingular provides...

I just found this site - http://stt2.smashsworld.com/ not too long ago on the screen savers tv show [happen to flip through it, on the rare occasion]. I don't have a cell phone, so I can't give any reference of it.

Pretty cool, all coded by a 17 year old

I'm glad I found this thread... maybe somebody can help: I desparately want to input a ringtone to my motorola T720 that sounds just like normal, non-electronic telephone ringing. You know the classic brass bells sound from the rotary dial phones of the '70's?

I can only find snippets of songs (uggghh - sooooo annoying) or electonic beeps, rings etc on the ringtone sites.

My old Nokia would allow you to key in ring tones with a certain combination of keystrokes. Can the motorola T720 accommodate this?

Please! I need the help of an alpha-geek here!

Alright I have some questions of my own here. I use Cingular and have an LG C1300.

1) What service is FREE (note the word FREE) but has the same features as Xingtone (lets you create your own real-music ringtones)?
2) How do I add tones to my message alert selection?
3) Is there any way to create phone-usable ringtones, store them on your own hosting space, and then access them with your phone?

I need this all to be compatible with an LG C1300.

I picked up a V710 the other day.. so far so good. I found some decent mp3's on the apps that came with the phone but I don't feel like paying for the songs.. I checked out the link that Kestrel put up but they didn't have my phone listed in the compatibilty section.. maybe it's fairly new and there's no software yet. If anyone knows of anything let me know :D

NeoSparky 02-28-2005 01:30 PM

there are a few options.. I hate paying for ringtones and I"ve had just about every carrier.

one way to go is thru a website. I've been a member of www.3gupload.com for some time now, it used to be completely free but now they ask for donations. It's 5 bucks for an unlimited membership.. You upload wav's or jpg's or anything and then depending on who your provider is they send a picture message to your phone or you get a link to download from.

the other option is get one of those data cables for a couple bucks on ebay. I got mine for 2 bucks on ebay for an LG 7000 phone. Then look on sourceforge for a program called bitpim. link coming shortly.. this lets you add or remove anything from your phone.. i make my own mp3 ringers from the latest songs with winamp (free software) www.winamp.com, tho everyone should know of winamp already.

bitpim: http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitpim/

pm for specific question, i'll try and answer.

Uncanny. I came here with the exact same questions as him. Have the same phone model too. Can somebody please answer these questions?

I love Verizon's service and rates but the ringtone deal with them is a joke.
