ummm, did they change the iPod?
 

Hey folks, I was recently surfing around and saw some pictures of some ipods (the new 3rd gen ones).

I ordered mine the day the 3rd gens were released (I was going to buy a second gen one before I realized the new ones were a month or so away. Waiting was terrible :) )

I've got the 10gb one, and I realize they changed the smallest size to 15gb. Did they also change the finish of the ipods?

I notice that the white surface of my iPod seems... duller that the new ones. I realize that it's older, but from the start it has maintained a similar finish. The new ones seem to have a clear coat or something on them.

I can't seem to get my hands on any new ones (without having to BUY one) so I'm coming to you guys.

Are my eyes playing tricks on me, or is there a difference in the finish?

Oh, and if you've seen both, what's the difference?

I think they've applied a scratch-resistant coating to the newer ones, seeing as how many people were complaining before =)

Ah, I see. That would have been nice. Mine is scratched like crazy :P

Thanks for the tip. Would probably be easier to resell one of those newer ones because they won't look like they've been tortured, even after normal, careful use.
