how hot is hot?
ok, i just built a new comp and i was wondering what a safe temperature would be. For future reference when i wanna OC my comp.
Well, these are the more important parts in my case :: ASUS K8V Athlon 3200+ 512 Corsair XMS (64MX64 PC-3200C2PT COR%) 160 GB seagate ATI All-in-Wonder 7500 (i know...this is a crap card. Im only using it for now until i finally decide on a real vid card) well, as of now, my comp is running at 76F and its been running over night. So.....anyone know what a good or bad temp would be? |
76F? Thats sweek fuck all. My computer is running at 71C and has been for the last year or so. I have no idea why, but it seems to be working fine.

Is it your case or CPU that's running at 76F? Either way, that's a really good temperature.

76f should be aalmost room temp...Excellent temp!
|
Hell, that's extremely cool. Unless it's 76C, then you're in trouble. But if it's 76F, by all means, that's one of the better recorded temps I've seen on this forum, be it case or CPU temp. Especially for an AMD-based system. That's super-cool for an AMD. 10 degrees cooler than my Intel CPU.

um 76 F sounds to low to me, not saying that a low temp is a problem but that sounds like the motehr board temp, not the CPU.
check the settings. |
yea.....some of my configs were messed up so it was spitting out the wrong numbers.
This is my new temp range Case :: 75F Mainboard :: 86F-90F CPU :: 81F-93F HDD :: 100F-104F those numbers sound ok? I got these numbers from Hmonitor after using my comp for 2 days straight |
sounds alright to me. I usually run around the same temps while doing basic windows tasks like surfing the web and messing with files or what not. When I play games it usually jumps up to around 110-120F and that's still a pretty safe temp
|
Your temps are fine bro. You should see what my buddies 3.2 Prescott runs at. He swears he can boil water on the cpu. Matter of fact, I think his case is the same temperature as yours when it is off! :)
