Explorer CPU 100%
since last week, when i start copying files and moving them around, explorer starts to slow to a crawl and when i check the processes, it says explorer is at 50mb to 100mb and using 99-100% of CPU. i can fix it by killing explorer and restarting it as a new task. I'm just wondering if this is a virus or something else.

You should run a checkdisk on your drive. A lot of times explorer does this if there is a bad sector on the drive. Explorer also does this when you move or delete very large files from your hard drive. OIf the files are 2-10 GB you should just not click anything and wait about 15 seconds.

the file is a movie i downloaded(718mb) and i cannot delete it. (being used by another software) i don't know exactly why i cannot delete this shit file. i'm gonna try a boot disk.
and i did a checkdisk, defrag, virus scan, etc... it's just when i click that fucking file that it starts bugging out. |
