Help with 3rd hard drive
I pulled 2 old hard drives out from my old computers and I am wondering how I can hook them up to mine so I can see if I can recover any files off of them. any advice? BTW I already have two hard drives hooked up now, a master and a slave(obviously), and i was hoping i wouldn't have to pull one out to put another one in.

external enclosures that convert ide to usb, or a pci ide card. what about your other ide chain? 2 cd drives?
just pop the cable from the CD on teh second ide and plug in the HD when your done recovering the data switch them back.
could i pull the cables off of my cd drives and plug it straight into the drive? how would i set my drive's jumpers for that? or configure my bios to do it?
yes you can do that. the jumper config should be on the drive, or you can look it up via model # search on the company's site. in bios as long as the ide's are set auto detect you will be fine.

coo, should I set it to slave or CSEL?
I always get errors with CSEL. I'd simply set the hard drive to slave if it's on the middle connector.
