I recently visited a few adult websites and my computer started acting funny. Then I installed MSN messenger and it completely crashed. Now my computer crashes every time i try to use it. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix the registry. And what can i do for better virus protection. I have Norton Antivirus and Swat IT. Please help, Im about to reset my harddrive.

AVG is prolly the best antivirus program that I've found. Free download, and free updates.

Please define "crash". Does it BSOD? Does it lock up? Do you reboot? Does it give any error messages?

Details man, we need details.

Goto the Top Windows Downloads thread and read from the top..
Norton's is pretty good, but it may be some sort of spyware or worse on your PC. Could be a bad build, but to help we need something to go on.

Personally I got HDW & SFTW firewalls, virus software (latest updates), Spybot, adaware, mozilla, etc.. and I still worry whats going on. I also try to stay away from any "porn sites". Zone alarm might tell you what's going on with your internet connx, but run a deep perfmon to see whats going on on your PC. Also remove the internet connx while your running the programs that are causing your pc to crash. I've had mpegs that call certain websites throw up errors when I'm not on the web. (I f'in deleted 'em strate away)

I have been to thousands of pron sites and Norton Autoprotect has always caught any viruses...(usually exploits) if you keep Norton updated and run Autoprotect you probally don't have a virus

I had a similar problem, when I was installing a Windows Update my computer crashed. After weeks of messing around with crashes and blue screens I reinstalled the update and everything worked okay.

I would recommend downloading AdAware at http://www.lavasoft.de/. I also agree with using AVG for anti-virus.

But anyway, why would you go anywhere but TFP for porn? I mean, Totally Free Porn

Well, what usually happens is that it freezes when your in the middle of doing something. Both online and off. Some error messages that come ujp are sbserv and rundl.
