Two linux server questions in one day? (This time regarding vsftpd)
I just wanted to say thanks again for the swift reply on my earlier thread about Apache, and I'm glad it was such a simple fix. I'm hoping this will be a relatively simple one as well.
Here's the problem. I'm setting up vsftpd on RH9 and I've done a little configuration but left most of the .conf files alone. When I try to connect from a different machine, it makes a connection, but gives this error: "500 OOPS: str_getpwnam: ftpsecure". Anyone ever seen this or have any idea what could be the problem? A google search on this error message didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. I can include my configurations if they are needed. Again, thanks in advance for anyone that tries to help.

It was exactly what you suggested. I had set "ftpsecure" as an unprivelaged user per my vsftpd.conf file, and hadn't actually created that user.
