Win 2K CD player
Who was the fucking moron who designed the volume control on this thing? god, it takes me an hour to fucking adjust it.
note to software developers: never create turn-knobs for anything, ONLY SLIDERS!!! god!! |
go to options, preferences, player options, advanced audio.
See where it says "select volume control" ? Thats the volume control you are using. Go to the main volume control window (that little speaker horn thing in your taskbar). find that control that matches the one selected in "Select volume control". use that, because it is a slider. |
thank you, but it wasn't that i was having a problem operating the sound adjustment, i was just complaining about the horrible design of the specific program and that turn-knobs should never be used because they are frustrating....especically for those with trackballs =)

I just use winamp as my CD player, I gave up on the supplied microsoft one a long time ago.
|
i don't like how winamp plays CDs.
it doesn't smoothly carry out the transition between tracks, creating an unwanted sound between songs (which is annoying if two tracks blend into each other) |
Hmm. I remember being annoyed by that too but I guess I haven't noticed it since I started using it for CDs again. Maybe I haven't been listening to any CDs that have tracks like that. Does Windows Media Player do the same thing?
|
I don't know about WMP but Winamp 2 inserts space between tracks, I believe. I can't use it for my classical CDs since some of them are not spilt by movement but by sections within the movement. So there are pauses every 2-4 minutes that ruin a piece. Thus I use Winamp3 since it plays tracks without any break between.
