I know there is a an easy answer to this but I'm to dopey to figure it out I downloaded a free Quicktime player so far so good it then somewhere along the line changed all my picture files from windows media files that I could print and resize etc. into quicktime jpeg files which I can't print. How do I change them back or failing that is there a program out there I can use thats cheap and simple to use. I would be thankful for any helpful hints any of the computer wiz types have thanks.

ahhh, good 'ol quicktime took ya over, eh? heheh
you can get it back, open quicktime, then edit, preferences, quicktime preferences choose file type associations, then click the file types button, uncheck the types that you don't want quicktime to handle. you may also additionally need to make changes in my computer, tools, folder options, file types tab....change .jpg to the program you prefer. I always like to make the change in the offending program before just doing it through windows. finally, did you know that you can right click a file, then choose open with... instead of just double clicking? that gives you the option to choose the program you wanna see it in. hope this helps!

While on the subject of quicktime, you can use things other than quicktime to view QT files. Quicktime alternative is a set of codecs that let you view quicktime files in any video player, with no need to install the quicktime client on your computer. You can avoid problems like the one you had, as well as the nags of regular quicktime.
