New Client's Machine I'm psyched about!
This is awesome. I love when people aren't really budget conscious, they just want a bad mofo. That's what we got right here, and about $100 bucks worth of pretty stuff and gadgets from www.xoxide.com (among other things, got THIS cool gadget which I think will look awesome!. my original goal was to just beat up an AW price, but the client had some specific needs which is why the vid card is different, and there's not more hard drive space. however, I like to note that even when matching the AW part for part, the price was still $1,600 less! we're still at about the same price, but cause of other stuff....like 2 gigs of super fancy LED ram! hehehe check it out...

I'd bump down the RAM to 1 GB (same type though ) and use the extra money to get a P4 EE or Athlon 64 FX-53. May as well go all out if you're gonna spend $2000 on a PC.

You'll spend even less than you are now for more performance, and way way less than a P4 EE system. And if I recall correctly, Athlon64 still can match a P4 EE at half the cost. |

heh, believe me, I wanted to go A64 with him, but his bad experience with older AMD processors has his mind set on Intel regardless of what anyone says.
2 gigs of ram because he's a web designer/video editor, wants to run 100 things simultaneously, and his next big purchase will be a $1,000 pinnacle editing card. you need as much ram as you can get when doing real time effects in after effects/premiere.

heheheh. check my home page link. learned how to do it all on my own, and broke some of my own stuff in the process. I did a lot of free work for people initially until I was comfortable charging them for a worthwhile service. It's not my main gig, I still have a 9 to 5, but I'll do whatever I can to keep it movin' after hours.
Coincidentally, the guy I'm building this computer for, I met through a forum. Gotta love when the online community bleeds into real life!! hehe
