Weird Problem on XP
My comp has been working perfectly up until this weekend..
I tried to open a program and got a weird error (no big deal, since I barely use it) But now, when I want to open a major program(i.e. dreamweaver or photoshop) weird things happen. I double click dream-weaver and it appears to be opening (can hear computer "working").. but it doesnt open..I double click it again and It opens right up. Photoshop problems: it opens fine but then i go to file>open and nothing happens. Have to close it and open it about 2 more times before anything else happens. I can't even open notepad without clicking on it like 5000 times along with the clock help! |

Do you recall what that error message was?
Maybe you have a virus? Do a virus scan just to be sure. Try this one: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ |

try looking at the processes through the task manager (ctrl-shift-esc), and see what's running when you start your programs.
did you adjust anything lately? are you by any chance running out of hard drive space?

Hibernating your laptop on a regular basis can lead to many different kinds of errors. You're better off to restart teh notebook at least once a day to keep problems from happening in the future. Oh, and if you have not done so, make sure that you have all of your windows-update patches.
-SF Hope it helps! |
