Nerd Alert: Mouse mod!

This is a little mod I did on my mouse -_-
I know, geeky as fuck but I was bored on a Sunday, soo....

My mouse is one of the older microsoft Intellimouse Explorer Opticals, with just 2 buttons (gasp) and a scroll wheel.
I used a dremel and the plastic from a CD-R spindle for the little window, and soldered in a blue LED. You know when you move these mice and they glow brighter? I exploited that, so when the mouse is sitting it is purple, but when you move it, it glows a vicious red :)

What better a way to close off a post than with a

Haha, awesome. I like how it changes colors.

I once saw someone who modded his mouse with a little 40mm fan to keep his palm cool... That was just crazy

They make mouses like that (have for a while now). I wonder if he ripped them off or if they ripped him off

Way ahead of you. And I'm going to paint it yellow, and put Sparco seats in it.

Perhaps you could integrate water cooling where the palm rests on the mouse to prevent the sweaty palms.

Add a skirt around it, cram a high flow fan in the bottom, and it could become a hovercraft. Sure it won't touch the mouse pad and it'll cease to function as a mouse, but think of how many nerds will become jealous.
